Naro Gewog has an area of 277 sq. km with an elevation ranging from 3,800 meters to 5,489 meters above sea level. The gewog has 35 households living in its 22 villages. Naro along with Soe and Lingzhi Gewogs fall under the administrative jurisdiction of the Lingzhi Drungkhag. The people in the gewog derive their livelihood and income mainly from yak herding. The population move from place to place herding yaks and though their relative income is high, the general quality of life is poor. Seasonal migration with herds is an important livestock rearing practice in the gewog. This poses considerable problems in delivering services to the people in the gewog. Naro has no educational and health infrastructure. The gewog does not have the prerequisite number of students to justify the establishment of a school. The children from this geog will continue to go to Lingzhi Primary School, Drukyul Junior High School (JHS) and Dechenchholing JHS. The gewog is one of the most inaccessible gewog in the dzongkhag with no motorable road access.There are no electricity and telecommunication connections. Transportation and movements within and with other gewogs are solely dependent on mule tracks
